Celebrating MORE firsts!

This past week has been one FULL of firsts!

Jericho got his first two teeth within a day of one another. We took a million pictures trying to get one that showed his teeth, and finally we did it!



He also fed himself for the first time today, and although it was a complete and total mess, he actually managed to get some pears into him without puking them back out.

You see, Jericho isn't too fond of food. It took a long time to get him interested in cereal but we figured that once he was good with the rice and oatmeal, he'd be all about tasting other foods.

Way way wrong.

We started with peas, and I kid you not, every single time we put a mouthful of peas into his mouth he would gag himself so bad he would vomit everything that was in his stomach. So then we tried a number of other fruits and veggies with the same outcome. Finally, a clever mom in my playgroup suggested letting him feed himself.

BINGO! I never would have thought of that, but come on, the boy puts his hands in his mouth no matter what they are covered in, so I figured it was worth a try. I stripped him down and amazingly, he scarfed down some [organic] pears without puking! HIP HIP HORRAY for intrepid mommies!

He also sat up for the first time today, and since Bill and I are so photo happy, we got out the camera and made sure to get pictures of it. Needless to say, Jericho wasn't as thrilled with us as we were with him.
